Todorov

Todorov in 1969 produced a theory which he believed to be able to be applied to any film. He believed that all films followed the same narrative pattern. They all went through stages called the equilibrium, disequilibrium, acknowledgement, solving and again equilibrium.Todorov's theory is used in our idea of our media project as it is built in that structure. At the start we have a very peaceful introduction which then leads to a more intense scene when the character is introduced. About mid way through the flashbacks start to appear, this does not comply with Todorov's theory but we included it as it adds intensity to our film. These flashbacks could also be considered the height of our film as they are the most important part. At the end of the film cut you see everything go back to everyday life and normallity restoring equilibrium.

1. A state of equilibrium (All is as it should be.)
2. A disruption of that order by an event.
3. A recognition that the disorder has occurred.
4. An attempt to repair the damage of the disruption.
5. A return or restoration of a NEW equilibrium

The Todorov for our opening sequence is very fitting to our story. There is a very storng equibrium for our story as it starts off very slow and builds up the story and more and more characters are buildt into the story. This reaches the climax as both characters are killed then the day goes back to the normal time and everything is restored
